LET IT FLOW

I have one game in my iPad that I love. It's called Flow. It shows a grid with colorful dots. You have to find the right path to connect the dots. It starts very easy and it progresses to bigger grids, more dots and with different obstacles.

Every time I play this game, I think how much it applies to life. Although I don't think it was their intention for the game, this is what I think.

When playing the game you may see a green dot close to another green dot. The first instinct is to connect the dots using the shortest way possible. But almost always, you can't. A lot of times the line go all around the grid before it can connect to the other dot. I catch my self thinking, but why? it's so much easier this way... Yeah, but then you can't complete the grid ;(

There is a solution for every grid. And that keeps me curious to find the right way to succeed.

Once you understand the specific quality of each grid, you can start planning your moves, identifying what is blocking the way, and prioritizing your moves to "unlock" the visual you need to connect all the dots.

As you can guess, I'm not talking about the game anymore. Isn't this life?

Say you have a goal. You need to figure out all the steps to get there (or some of it), Prioritize them and map out your road to success. The answers don't always come easily, which means the figuring out part sometimes require help. It's ok to ask for help. Please ask for help! I think this is when you really learn about the goal and yourself. Don't be surprise if you decide to change the goal on this stage of the process. That's right, it's a process!

Life is full of wonders. Being able to enjoy life's distractions and still be connected to your map of success can be a challenge. But when the dots are aligned, it flows. It really does! Now I understand the expression "get your ducks in line".

Decide 'what' is your goal. Understand your 'why'. Find your 'how' to get there (let me repeat it: it's ok to ask for help!). Decide 'where' to start. Get your strategies in order.

Start and feel the flow!
